I have a date!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got the call this morning at 8:15
My surgery date is May 7th.
I have the IVC filter on April 30th.
And possibly see the surgeon on April 28th.

Yep, I'm excited : )

OK.. I'm off to work on my formal dress for the cruise.

WOOHOOO!!!!!!!!!

On Friday I received an awesome email from Yvette at the Dr's office.
My insurance has approved the procedure!!!!!!
I should have this coming week when my surgery date is.

We leave for our cruise in 20 days. So great things are coming.. woohooo.

UGH!!! Insurance companies....

I got an email today from the Dr's office, Yvette, said she checked on my status yesterday and they told her they didn't have the documents. WHAT????
So I called today instead of waiting utnil tomorrow, and spoke to a very nice guy named Chris. He was very patient and understanding as I explained my issues and he looked up my file and said he could see that it was in review. He also said that it had the original date of 3/18, and that it had been updated today. Same status, no new info, but someone had been in my file today.
So who knows what's going on.

Sooooo with not knowing what's going on we're planning to take our cruise after all.
We leave in 23 days.
It'll be alot of fun. I know it will. But I can't help but be disapointed that I don't even have a surgery date yet, must less haven't had it. I was so hoping that we'd be thru that part of it and I'd be recovering by then. oh well.. everything happens for a reason, right?

I did all our online registration for it today and printed it out. Now to start packing :)

Insurance update

I spoke to a very nice lady at the insurance company yesterday.
She said she could see my claim in the system and for me to call back on Friday.
She expected an update by then (if not before).

She talked to me a little about why they tell us one thing and then the dr's something else.
Doesn't seem right, but whatever. She did say that with my BMI, she expected them to approve the surgery for me.

So here's crossing my fingers and saying my prayers. :)

Hooded Towels

For Christmas I made a hooded towel for my nephew. My mom loved it so much she wanted another one to give to his mom. (She keeps the first one at her house for when he's there, almost every weekend.)

So I made a 2nd one (dark blue). While talking to Mom one day she mentioned that her Sister-In-Law would like to know how to do them so she could make them for 2 of her nieces she keeps alot too. So I said I'd make them for her as a surprise. So last night I finished them up.. remember I am the queen of procrastination ;)

They are really hard to photograph without models.. but this gives you an idea.

Finally.. moving again

Today I got word that my letter has finally made its way back from transcription and is now on its way to the insurance company.
Please keep us in your prayers as we await the next news of if I'm approved or not.
This should take about 6 to 10 days... so they say.

Still waiting...

Waiting is hard.. I'm not having fun waiting.
My friend Kym is going thru the exact same thing.
Her insurance told her it was covered and when the Dr's office tried to get it approved she was denied also. So she's waiting on approval for the Gastric Bypass as well.

Say a prayer for our patience and for a quick approval. :) Please.

On some good news side.. Chris and I now have 3 new fishes we added to our tank.

Test results and Insurance

Yesterday's testing went well. Never had blood drawn directly from an artery before. That's a bit painful after they take the needle out. But I have to say both nurse's were very good and gentle. (the first nurse couldn't get it it so brought in a second.) I have a tiny tiny little bruise.
The pulmonary doc cleared me for surgery :) YEAH!!!

And this morning I received a call from Yevette, she has the file back from Dr. Strickland and he's approved the change to the bypass and now Mindy has to change the code and send it off to be typed up. They should have that back in a day or two and then its off to the insurance yet again. Yevette said that could take around 10 days. So we wait ..... again.

But so far so good. :)
